What projects did you work on during your internship?

At ZCM, I got the opportunity to dive deep into the investment management industry. Different investment teams hosted educational sessions and gave a 360-degree view of different asset classes and investment strategies. ZCM helped me build a strong network and I received great mentorship.

How has it prepared you for your future?

The ZCM internship program is designed to build key skills essential to succeed in Investment management. It helped me to strengthen my analytical, communication and management skills, making me ready for future opportunities.

Was there anything unexpected that came from your internship at ZCM?

I’m surprised by how helpful, and down-to-earth people are at ZCM.

What projects did you work on during your internship?

Throughout the summer my major project has been remediating a finding from the firm’s annual review of its compliance program. The finding was to better document each investment team’s investment decision-making process. In addition to learning how a variety of investment teams conduct investment processes for different types of investment strategies, I tested specific holdings that reflect the investment processes in action. This allowed me the unique opportunity to meet with each investment team and learn their complex strategies directly from investment professionals.

What has your experience been like at ZCM?

From the moment I started at ZCM, the thing that stood out most to me was ZCM is like a family. Everyone has been welcoming, encouraged me to ask questions, and learn about every aspect of the industry.

Fun fact

I play soccer at Beloit College as a goalkeeper.

What projects did you work on during your internship?

This summer, I have been working on sustainability research. I have been looking into various government agencies and municipal bonds that plan and fund green or sustainable infrastructure projects. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to broaden my understanding of ESG and SRI and what sustainability looks like in investment.

What has your experience been like at ZCM?

I am so grateful for my experience at ZCM! I was exposed to many learning opportunities throughout my time at the firm. Specifically, I was able to work with the sustainability team and learn about the intersection of sustainability and investment.

What projects did you work on during your internship?

During my time at ZCM, I had the opportunity to focus on their marketing and client services department. My main project at ZCM was to develop marketing strategies through in-depth research on environmentally focused companies across the United States, specifically the East and West coasts. Through this research, I was able to create a list of companies to target that may be interested in ZCM’s environmental investment strategies.

What has your experience been like at ZCM?

I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated my time spent at ZCM, it gave me the opportunity to grow in my career as well as learn a great amount about an industry that I did not have much prior knowledge or experience in. Although it was intimidating at first, I was met with a great amount of support and a team of professionals that wanted to see me succeed. Further, I am grateful for the unique experience I had in being invited to sit in on meetings with senior leadership and am looking forward to bringing this knowledge and experience to my next position.

Fun fact:

I played college basketball at my dad’s alma mater, Beloit College.
